Avocado is so healthy, and I've been looking for a way to make it palateble for our east coast tastebuds. Oh, sweet bliss!! This tastes vaguely like cheesecake :)

I was looking for a new way to use my ripe avocado when I stumbled upon this recipe. Sure I could've just put it on a sandwhich, but dessert?!?! Made it last night and it was fantastic--everyone enjoyed and I will definately be making it again!! Thanks for sharing! (and foodblog serch!!)

I believe that Jagger is the name of the man who first developed the recipe, or perhaps the first to distribute it. My first encounter with this delightful treat was at the second annual Spring Fair in Santa Cruz, California in the early Seventies. The pie and the recipe were both sold by a fairly local gent by the last name of Jagger. I met him at the time, as I was also running a booth at the fair, but do not recall his first name.

Hope this helps.

I had Jagger Pie ( that was the name ) for the first time at a steakhouse in Sonora, California, over 35 years ago. However, it was made with lime juice and the crust was made from ground chocolate wafers rather than graham crackers. The Mexican Lime or Key Lime, so easy to find here in California, puts an excellent twist on this great dessert.

This Avacado Pie sounds, wonderful, can't wait to try. I was fascinated by Visolela who told about the comfort food served to children. Also was pleased to hear she enjoyed "Grasshopper Pie" one of my favorites growing up. I have been looking for a recipe, ours was made of Ice cream, Cream de Menthe, maybe Knox Geletin and your choice of lady finger crust or crushed chocolate ice box cookes. If anyone has a receipe I would love to find it.
