Nicole, This is such a lovely post. I very much like the idea of these small pies. There's something wonderfully alluring about little bites of blueberry and apple. And the cinammon swirl french toast topping is a fabulous thing to do wtih the leftover blueberry and apple. Thank you for this inspiration. (And I'm glad Curt asked you these photography questions. I agree with you: a flash makes food look all wrong. I hadn't thought about a tripod, but that makes perfect sense.) Can't wait for what comes next. Best, BL

Ok, what settings are your camera on? I'm getting better, and getting more close-up... If you saw my ABT post, I think I got some good shots there, but I need to upgrade my camera (I'm considering an Nikon D80 when the come out, or may just go with a D50).

Curt, if you fly me to the states from Sicily, I'd be happy to! Actually I'm just learning about photography...especially food photography! I've only been taking photos like these for a few weeks it seems like! My camera is a Canon EOS Digital Rebel (6.3 megapixels) and I'm still using the lens that came with the camera although I'd like to upgrade soon. All I can say is you should use natural light instead of a flash and use a tripod. Also, study other people's food photos on Flickr and then practice a lot :-)
