this is strange , same thing happened to me
i’ ve had the bitter taste in my mouth for 3 days since i have been eating
the pine nuts from trader’s joe(russian)
so it might be important to have them checked
who could do that?

Thank you! I developed an ‘aspiriny’ taste in my mouth yesterday and I’ve bee panicking a bit. I found your little blurb and remembered that I ate a tone of Korean pine nuts a few days ago. I never eat pine nuts, and I’ll think twice before I do so again. (I just finished some delicious aspirin yoghurt, which I imagine will be followed by an aspirin sandwich for lunch

last Sunday now (almost a week from today)! my dad and i sat down to a meal of creamy pesto over ravioli’s with of coarse ‘pine nuts’ our problem! we ate our meal and it was delicious! but the next day i had breakfast and when i got finished i had the worst most bitter taste in the back of my mouth (like most) and it happened at lunch and dinner and it to this day is horrible it makes me wonder why I’m still eating food! and then my dad called me and said he did some research about the bitter taste (that he had too) and he read all the comments about those dumb pine nuts that i guess you could say poisoned our taste buds for the longest time therefore we FINALLY had an answer to that retched taste that is still bugging us and sticking in our mouths for as long as it has! the worst thing of all is that they were $39 a pound witch is highly over prised for nuts no matter where you get them from >:( one of the worst experiences I’ve had with food personally.

One of the first things the FDA asked me was if I had some of the product. I did not have any. I filed a complaint with the Georgia Branch of FDA Penny Harris she gave me an address to write for results. We need to stay on top of this. Every case I’ve seen is from CHINA I filed back in January.

When I took my “nuts” back to Costco, I included a letter and some comments from this page with the URL for it and another one I found.

To Steven (above): How many pine nuts did you and your wife eat? I had about one cup over two days. There were none of the bonus symptoms you suffered. Some of us are more sensitive to whatever it is.

An update on the symptoms:things get worse the first 72 hours.
Both me and my wife had nausea, vomiting, diarrhea after eating pine nuts,
in addition to the horrible bitter taste unchanged.
I was wondering if the toxin is getting worse in these pine nuts?
Same brand as with others: 365 brand at organic section at Whole Foods,
imported from China. Please insist at FDA. They eventually called back
three times for more detalis, they seemed very interested.
Please call FDA!

This happened to me right now! I eat a lot of nuts, including pine nuts. I store all my nuts in the refrigerator. I used some as a garnish in soup 2 days ago and the bitter taste started the next day. I thought it was the crackers I was eating, but the next day, everything I ate or drank had this taste. I thought something was wrong with me so I googled “bitter taste” and the very first article was about pine nuts. Bingo! I know I just had them! My husband had them, too, the same day and he had no reaction, which leads me to believe that it is a personal reaction and not something wrong with the nuts.
Now I just wonder how long until this wears off…

Report it to the FDA !
That’s what I did. It is horrible taste. Luckily I found this website.
I never eat pine nuts. I did for two days, imported from China.
Please report it to FDA !
