An update ..... of sorts...

Due to family emergency, I have been spending my week-ends in Bklyn, so I have lagged a bit in the challenge. I finally made the bagels, then skipped to the challah, will fill in with the missing breads next week. I have promised to make the bagels a (semi-)weekly event now, along with the cinnamon buns, yeast cakes and challahs that I make every Thursday. One thing about the BBA breads so far.... not one "dud", they are all good for repeats! I made the bagels on the 2 minutes each side boil, as the chewy bagels are more "NY"-ish.
Peace,
ivyb

[...] Nicole from Pinch My Salt came up with a great idea last week: to methodically work through Peter Reinhart’s The Bread Baker’s Apprentice. The idea is to do one recipe a week, one after another with no bouncing around. She mentioned something on Twitter about it, and, at first, there were two of us that joined her. Before she knew it, though, the numbers started climbing. I think there are something like 100 people involved now. Peter Reinhart even contacted her as he’d heard about the challenge. It’s kind of interesting how these things take off on social media now.
How exciting! My daughter is a food blogger (Culinerapy) and because she knows I love to bake bread she gave me BBA for Mother's Day! Is it too late to join in? It's such a great cook book, I would LOVE to learn along with you all!
