Curried Scrambled Eggs

Curried Scrambled Eggs with Avocado and Fruit

I’ve been eating eggs for breakfast quite a bit lately.  This isn’t because I’m stuck in a rut, but because I feel good when I eat eggs and I just really like them.  And okay, maybe I have been in a bit of a rut. Continue reading →

Herbed Cheddar Parmesan Crisps Recipe

Cheddar Parmesan Crisps

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but there probably hasn’t been a whole lot of “me” showing up in the blog lately.  Sure, I’ve been sharing recipes, might have talked about the weather or the Farmer’s Market a few times, but I’ve been pretty guarded about what I share.  Yes, I’ve mentioned the divorce, and all the moving I’ve done in the past year, but there’s been something else going on with me lately. Chipotle Bacon Deviled Eggs

Chipotle Bacon Deviled Eggs

I first made these deviled eggs for Easter when I took them to a barbecue at my Aunt and Uncle’s house out on the ranch.  We ate good food, hid eggs for the kids, and were entertained all afternoon by my baby cousin Belle jumping on the mini trampoline.  She’s not even two years old, but has already learned some trampoline tricks. Spiced Turkey Burgers with Green Olives and Feta

Spiced Turkey Burger Lettuce Wrap

These are by far the most flavorful turkey burgers I’ve ever tasted. The mixture of warm roasted spices, fresh herbs, feta, and olives set these so far apart from the average grilled meat patty that I almost hesitate to call them burgers.  I didn’t even bother with a bun – the crisp cool lettuce wrap served as a perfect balance to the warm spiced turkey burger. Sweet and Spicy Chinese Five Spice Roasted Almonds

Chinese Five Spice Roasted Almonds

I love plain roasted almonds, but sometimes I crave something with a little more pizazz.  Flavored almonds from the store can be good, but they’re often overwhelmingly salty, not to mention expensive.  So, I decided to come up with my own recipe for spiced roasted almonds.  Continue reading →

Sour Cream Cinnamon Streusel Muffins with Pecan Filling

Inside of Cinnamon Streusel Muffin

I’ve never been a huge fan of crumb-topped coffee cakes.  I’ve had so many that were dry and boring that I decided early on that I’m just not really into coffee cake.  But my mom used to make one called a Sour Cream Pound Cake and I loved it.  Continue reading →
