Happy Veterans Day

Please take a moment to think about the men and women, husbands and wives, sons and daughters that are serving our country today, and those that have served in the past.  I wish I could hug my veteran today, but he, like so many of them, doesn’t get to take this holiday.

So, this one goes out to all you, around the world.

Thanks for your service!

Girls Night Out on Twitter

Just a quick note to let you know that I’ll be participating in a Twitter event tomorrow Called Girls Night Out, or, GNO for short.  I was contacted by the ladies of Mommy Gossip GNO to see if I would be the ‘Guest Tweet’ at their weekly online gossip gathering.

So, are you confused yet?  I was, too.  But basically, there is a growing group of women that get together on Twitter every Tuesday night for a couple hours of conversation around a particular topic. And by conversation, I mean, people around the world gathered in a virtual room chattering all at once!  This week’s topic is holiday food and I will be there, trying my hardest to keep up!

I have no idea what this will be like but you should know by now that if there’s anything I love to talk tweet about, it’s food!  I’ll be using a new twitter account that I set up specifically for this event, so if you’re interested in what I’ll be talking about on Tuesday night, you can follow me here. And if you want to know more about the event, and learn how to join in, please visit Mommy Gossip GNO for all the juicy details!

And for those of you who have no idea what twitter is and just want to know when the next recipe is coming, hold tight til tomorrow afternoon for the first installment of my holiday recipe series!

Food Bloggers on the Radio!

Just a quick heads-up that I will be a guest on a radio show tomorrow morning!  The Gourmet Club, a local internet radio food show, will be featuring San Diego food bloggers this week!  Tune in on your computer to hear me talking about food, blogging, and the San Diego food scene with a couple of other San Diego bloggers that you probably know: Alice from Alice Q. Foodie and Amanda from What We’re Eating. The show will be hosted by Caron Golden of San Diego Foodstuff and Maureen Clancy of Matters of Taste and is sure to be a lot of fun!

The Gourmet Club airs this Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. til noon (PST), but if you aren’t able to listen live on your computer, the show will also be available as a podcast.  For more details about tomorrow’s show, visit San Diego Foodstuff.

And, if you have specific questions you’d like to ask us, leave a comment on Caron’s blog before 9:30 a.m. tomorrow morning or call in to the show live at 866.818.6384.

Hope you get a chance to listen!

And the Winner is…

Actually, there are two winners.  But you knew that already, right?

First of all, I want to say how thrilled I am that so many of you participated in this contest.  I read every single one of your comments and I wish that I could send a gorgeous new knife to each of you!  I am glad that I decided to select the winners randomly because I would never have been able to choose between the 329 readers who left comments!  So many sad stories and so many sad knives!

But let’s get to winners, shall we? Continue reading →

An Exciting Knife Giveaway!

New West Knives

Well it’s been a while, hasn’t it?  We’re all settled in at the new house and although there’s still tons of work to do, it’s slowly shaping up and we are loving the new place more and more each day!

And now that I’m officially back to blogging, I thought I’d start things back up with a bang!  I have two gorgeous kitchen knives to give away thanks to the wonderful people at New West Knife Works.

As a food blogger, I am constantly bombarded with requests to write about new products.  For the most part, I kindly decline these offers.  But when I got an e-mail from New West Knife Works, I was instantly intrigued. Continue reading →
