Chocolate Crackles were always included on the plates of Christmas cookies my mom put together every year for her friends, coworkers, and relatives. I’ve always loved their crackled appearance and chewy texture so I like to continue the tradition and include them on my Christmas cookie plates as well. But this year I decided to change up the plain chocolate cookie recipe a bit by adding chopped dried tart cherries and extra chocolate chips to the dough. Continue reading →
Thanks to everyone who contributed ideas for naming these cookies! Wow, what a turnout! I never thought I would be able to choose between all the great submissions, but I finally decided on a name that is simple, catchy, and to the point: Dark Chocolate Cherry Chews. But this month’s recipe featured my all-time favorite dessert ingredient…CARAMEL! So I just couldn’t bring myself to skip it. Continue reading →
I made this on a whim late last night and it was still cooling when I went to bed. Since the recipe was completely improvised, I had no idea if it was successful until I woke up this morning. So when I rolled out of bed (way too early), the first thing I did was cut into the cake! Continue reading →
And today we have the final recipes in the Holiday Recipes series I’ve been putting on with Amanda and Tyler of What We’re Eating. At our pre-holiday dinner, Amanda made a delicious cranberry sauce that included persimmons and just a touch of fresh rosemary. I would never have thought to add rosemary to cranberry sauce, but the combination was perfect! Continue reading →
