Autumn has Arrived, It’s Time for Pumpkin Recipes!

Pumpkin Pancakes

Today is the first day of Autumn, and even though we haven’t seen too much of a change down here in sunny southern California, I am ready to dive head first into some fall flavors!

Just this week, the mornings have cooled down enough that I can now wear my comfy slippers rather than flip flops when I walk down the driveway to pick up the morning paper.  And that alone is enough to make me crave warm pumpkin pancakes dripping with butter and maple syrup!

Can you tell that I’ve been looking forward to the end of summer?

So I thought perhaps I’m not the only one who is already excited to start a season filled with pumpkiny delights!  I spent the morning rounding up all my own pumpkin recipes and then headed to Food Blog Search to dig up some more pumpkin recipes that look appealing.  Happy browsing!

I'm ready for it too! I bought a pumpkin scone at SB this morning and it made me think of your homemade ones you posted a while back. So yummy, love the fall flavors. They even have fall flavors for baby foods, and Abby loves it...pumpkin, squash with a nutmeg flavor...yummy!

It seems all is right with the world today... I have power back after Ohio's version of hurricane Ike, and Nicole's blogging again. I only wish I'd been paying attention for that cool knife contest!

This is my favorite time of year. The smell and taste of pumpkin with the holiday feeling. I look forward to the pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks every year...and the scones like Ruby said. We have our latte and stroll the Santa Monica promenade in the cool weather:) And i am sure that your new home is going to smell so yummy. Maybe i will get brave enough to try a pumpkin recipe:)

Yummy, and all the pumpkins I have been seeing is making me so excited about cooking and getting into the spirit of fall and winter :) Also cooking with apples and making hot spiced apple cider. Have a beautiful autumn day. Anna

Nicole- Those pumpkin pancakes look divine. I bet they'd be wonderful gluten-free with a couple of tweaks. Yum. And thanks for including one of my recipes!

Karina: I'm going to take your advice and pick up some GF pancake mix. These will be fun to make for a friend who has recently had to give up gluten! Julo: I'm hoping to have some new ones soon! Sandi: Yes, I wish the weather were more autumn-like here. But I'm already forging ahead to warm, comforting food anyway! Maggie: Haha! Wouldn't it be nice if it were that easy? :-)

Nicole, I don't know what area of SD you're in, but it's still full on summer where I am! I don't care, I'll still make pumpkin pancakes, and pumpkin scones, and dream that one day maybe starbucks will make a pumpkin latte that doesn't make me pucker because it's so sweet. Seriously, how did they mess up such a wonderful thing?

Julo: I know it's still summer, but the nights and mornings have cooled just enough to make me dream of fall! I've never tried the pumpkin latte at Starbucks, I never stray from my regular: a tall latte, never iced. I don't like overly sweet coffee concoctions!

Nicole, you're so right. It was down right foggy this morning. I loved it. I wouldn't recommend it. It always sounds so good, but it's so sugary I don't even taste pumpkin. Blegck! I love Chai tea actually.
