Clotilde: The wood is the top to an old chest that my sister and I used to store toys when we were kids. I think my grandfather made it. The hinges broke so I'm able to remove the top and use it for photography now :-)
glad you're feeling better. i was going to ask the same question about the wood -- clotilde beat me! it really is fantastic. who would've thought an old door could be so useful!
cheers,

Just found your blog... and it's so lovely! I'm anticipating I'll need a lot of time to go delving into all your recipes. Looking at your photo of the farmer's market finds is like looking at my own kitchen, except my Roma tomatoes and peppers are still green! Of course, I'm just south of you (near Bakersfield, but up in the mountains) and my microclimate means everything is later here, but it's on the vine! And I'm picking raspberries for my friend at her organic farm Monday.
Those Roma tomatoes are stunning! Are they going to be re-incarnated for Summer Fest? Tomatoes are my favorite summer produce....I can't wait for Wednesday!
You are so lucky to found all the things that you are looking for in that market. I wish I can also visit that place. I think that is the perfect place to buy all ingredients.
My bf and I adore farmer's market and we go every Sunday! I love finding great fresh foods and trying sweet berries and buying flowers for the week! Looks like you found some great items!
