It took me a while (I do have to go to work!) to read every single post of yours from the beginning. And I am a perfectionist, I do not skip. I can relate to your story on so many accounts. I live far away from my family, but like it here. I just wish we could all be together, somehow. I am very close to my sister who lives in Germany and we visit as often as we can. I have never been to Sicily, but i spent three incredible weeks in Abruzzi and Rome in 1987, just after college. I always thought I'd end up living in Italy, but ended up here in the US:) Ho studiato l' Italiano all' Universita' di Belgrado. My daughter signed me up for a black and white course in photography this fall. I am so excited! Your photos on Flickr are gorgeous. And we live in Southern California, too! I am NEVER going to move away, although I am tempted every time I visit my College Kritter in Berkeley. Looking forward to reading more of your future posts!

Great color. I like the sharpness of the green new buds with the slightly out of focus yellow more mature heads. Great shot.
