As long as you are willing to read the book, you will learn everything you need to know about bread baking. Some members of this group had never baked a loaf of bread before attempting the first recipe in The Bread Baker's Apprentice. Although this book is a favorite among seasoned bakers, I feel that it is also perfect for beginners. The key is to spend time with the book, and let Peter Reinhart teach you how to bake bread!
