Yumm... I just bought some fresh Quebec strawberries from a farmer's market in Montreal while I was on vacation. They were tiny (unlike the California ones I usually get which are MONSTEROUS) but they were so sweet!
Eat them! They don't last long at our house. My favorite is fruit salsa! I am inviting you to come to my house and pick peaches in the next few weeks we will have trees full of various kind of peaches growing right here in my yard... of FREE!!! By the way, I live in Fresno.
I just made strawberry margarita cupcakes with a lime curd filling last week. They were amazing. I used 2lbs of fresh strawberries between the cupcakes and the swiss buttercream frosting.
I also love to top my cereal with them!
Feed them to my 11 month old. She loves them. A month ago we were at the beach and you should have seen the look of pure joy on her face when she bit into one for the first time.
Today for a snack at work I just had them plain. Picked them up, popped them in my mouth. Pure strawberry goodness. But I've also been making strawberry milkshakes this summer. Great treat on a hot day.
I have a recipe in my blog for Strawberry Bread that I used fresh strawberries to make. It was pure heaven. But my next feat will be to make home made strawberry jam from a recipe given to me by my husband's grandmother and it was her mother's recipe. I am really looking foward to testing it out.
