I created this slideshow last March for my old Life in Sicily blog. It was the last thing I posted on that blog because I became obsessed with foodblogging and Pinch My Salt began to eat up all of my time and energy. I don’t think many people ever watched the slideshow so I thought I would share it here even though looking at it now I kind of cringe at the cheesiness of it!
The photos are from the chocolate festival in Modica, a beautiful Sicilian town known for its baroque architecture and traditional chocolates. The chocolate in Modica is made using a traditional recipe dating back to the ancient Aztec civilization. The well-known chocolate festival happens every year and I was lucky enough to attend it twice while I was living here.
Today is our last day on the island so I thought it would be fitting to share with you one of my favorite Sicilian experiences. Sorry I don’t have time to write more but feel free to ask questions in the comments section and I will reply when we are done traveling! It’s closing time in the library and since this is my only source of internet access at the moment, I’ll have to sign off now. Tomorrow I will blogging from an airport!
Arrivederci Sicilia!
