All of these items are things that I use on a regular basis or definitely would use on a regular basis if someone gave them to me 😉 I happen to be going through a green phase right now and my latest purchases include the very handy green prep-bowl set. These are part of Mario Batali’s line and double as measuring cups…very cool! I also recently bought the GIGANTIC green pancake flipper and I love it!! It’s slightly flexible but sturdy enough to hold it’s own against my GIGANTIC banana pancakes! As I was doing “research” for this post (research=shopping), I found the supercool sparkly green spatulas! I don’t have these yet (hint hint!) but one can never have too many spatulas so I’m hoping to add them to my collection someday. My green herb snips are cute and handy with their big comfortable handles and built-in leaf stripper. For my birthday, I received a very cute, very retro, green half-apron from my cousin. She bought it from Anthropologie and I searched for it online but couldn’t find it. Although not as cute as mine, I think these other aprons would make great gifts and of course they match all of the cool green kitchen accessories!

Before I turned green, I went through a red phase in the kitchen (I still love red!). My favorite item on this list is the Escali kitchen scale. It’s cute, compact, and works extremely well. It measures up to 11 pounds/5 kilograms and toggles between grams and ounces, making it perfect for recipe conversions. It also has a nice tare feature so that you can use any container you wish for measuring. I received the red batter pitcher as a gift last month and I’ve used it almost every day! It looks like glass but is made of light, durable melamine. I love the deep red color and the non-skid base. I was drooling over the nesting set of melamine bowls at Williams Sonoma when I was back in the states…I love the design! Everyone in my family has started using a butter bell and I fell in love with it while I was home. Thankfully my grandmother sent me home with one! It not only keeps the butter at a perfect temperature making it easy to spread but it stays so much fresher than storing it in a traditional butter dish. Try it! And of course I couldn’t resist adding some more cute aprons to match all these wonderful red gifts!

The "hint hint" is just to precious Nicole! ;-) I recently found the silicone spatulas in a dollar bin at old Target` (spoken with a french accent*). They are great, getting quite a bit of use for them on my holiday baking. The butter bell is a great idea, though I love butter so much I fear I will eat it more when it is presented in this attractive contraption!

Did you ever read the book "Red is Best" as a kid? This post reminded me of it, (and also how there should be a book called "Green is Best") Those aprons are great, actually, everything's great, I wish food bloggers bought be gifts because they're just better shoppers.

Ooh, that stuff is all super-fun! I have a pink set of those melamine - non-skid mixing bowls and I love them. Butter bell? I have never heard of such a thing!

My mom gave me a butter bell for Christmas last year and it's one of the best additions to my kitchen, ever! I LOVE butter, and having it soft and ready to eat whenever I want is dangerously fantastic. Wonderful list! Thanks for the ideas!

I saw your blog through the Well Fed Network nominations. Congratulations!! I've been looking for an apron to use in the kitchen and that Fashionista one is really cute!
